I'm really excited to appear as an 'UNREAL Rockstar' in a new publication online: https://www.unrealinternet.com/rockstars/news-categories/portraits about business and current affairs. Concerned as I was about being 'a small fish in a very big pond' so to say, as a lonesome artist and sole trader battling the world from a terrace house studio. Maybe they got it wrong and I shouldn't have been asked, I questioned!
The online feature 'centres on understanding how entrepreneurs, startups and established companies are navigating in today's competitive market,' as explained by Vanessa Blake, Editor-in-chief'. They cover startup news across the US and Europe with a down-to-earth focus on real-world business journeys, she explains. I'm lucky because my website analytics represent a high concentration of viewers in the US, who, I'm guessing, may enjoy my 'Right Royal Street Party' painting and it's hilarious focus on the Royals' at their very own tea party at the Royal Jubilee celebrations in 2012. The huge original is sold, but prints are still available from the Saatchi Art website: https://www.saatchiart.com/en-gb/print/Painting-A-Right-Royal-Street-Party/423273/1596146/view
The interviewees fill out a short questionnaire online about your background, journey and challenges you have faced. So what did I want to say? For me, I've been pondering over how to communicate something with my Art, trying to work all the components out, the why, the how, and then recently I was asked by a friend to illustrate two of his children's book's, 'What Can Grown-Ups Learn from Children' and 'How to be the World's Worst Secretary', which have been picked up by Worldwide publisher Austin Macaulay: https://www.austinmacauley.com This lead me to researching the market and inspiring me to illustrate and possibly write or co-write books about mental health issues in the future, to communicate and raise peoples awareness and hopeful acceptance of those that suffer with mental health conditions, such as BDD, anxiety and depression and also autism.
I hope I'm able to encourage young people to live without fear and face challenges and keep going, maybe with the help of friends and mentors, who can pass down their skill's and help at difficult times.
